The exhibition launch event for our Hands On makers was a roaring success, with MCAD’s community coming together to celebrate the success of our bursary makers. As part of our first ever creative business bursary, over the last four months, we’ve worked with artists Bhaggie Patel, Simon Denton and EvaD Ould–Okojie to develop their creative practice. Although each maker works with very different materials, through development of this exhibition, the artists have uncovered similar themes and motivations in their work.
Craft is playful, powerful, hopeful and important.

On the day we had a plant swap, craft activities for all ages, and a coffee van providing espresso martinis. The atmosphere of community was amazing, and we hope to run more events like these in the future. Check out our events page, or subscribe to our newsletter to find out more.
