Watercolour Workshop
With Susan Kane
Saturday 30th September, 10.30am - 2.30pm

If you’ve always wanted to paint with watercolours but have never been quite sure where to start, this is the perfect opportunity.
My workshop is a lovely, relaxed introduction to watercolour, held in my studio at Manchester Craft & Design. We will have beautiful, fresh flowers and some of my vintage ceramics and coffee pots to paint from, so there will be plenty of inspiration.
I will take you through the whole process, starting with fun, loosening up methods before moving on to simple brushstrokes, right up to applying the final delicate marks to your painting. We will try out various techniques using a range of paint brushes and papers, including a lovely watercolour paper, allowing you to explore the possibilities. The results are often surprising, you never quite know how the paint will dry and that’s all part of the process and the fascination with this medium.
By the end of the workshop, you will have several, small and wonderful watercolour studies to take home together with notes on the various techniques covered and where to buy art materials.
Classes are small, with no more than 4 attendees, which means I can spend plenty of time with everyone.
All materials are provided but if you have a favourite brush, feel free to bring it along. I will also provide tea, coffee and biscuits.
This class is 3 hours 30 mins and is suitable for beginners but anyone with a little more experience is more than welcome.
