Workshop Leader: Natalie Laura Ellen

Saturday 27th May, 10am - 12.30pm

Manchester Craft and Design Centre

Come and get creative with Natalie Ellen and learn how to make your very own lampshade!

During this relaxed 2.5 hour workshop, Natalie will teach you everything you need to create your own professional 30cm drum lampshade. On the day you can choose whether you’d like to make a shade with a lamp or pendant fitting and pick your fabric from a selection of the most popular designs from her collection. There will also be some lovely plain cotton and linens in a range of colours if you’d prefer a simpler design.

Workshop numbers are limited to 6 people, which will ensure lots of one-to-one teaching time per person and a lovely group atmosphere on the day.

Date & Time: Saturday 27th May, 10am – 12.30pm
Tickets: £55
The ticket price includes all materials, fabric for your project (if you have something specific in mind, get in touch), tips & tricks from years of drum lampshade experience and refreshments including tea, coffee, soft drinks and cake! You’ll take your finished lampshade home with you.
Venue: Space2, Ground Floor at Manchester Craft and Design Centre

“I’ve been working in the textiles industry for well over a decade now. After studying textiles and pattern design at York St. John University, I worked as an in-house designer for a digital textile manufacturer in Manchester, which saw me work with a wide range of clients from large high-street brands to small designer-makers. This experience was invaluable, helping develop my creative confidence and giving me a strong understanding of commercial design. After beavering away on my own collections in my spare time, I decided to take the leap and go solo in 2017, creating my own brand: Natalie Laura Ellen.

I’ve been making lampshades using my fabric designs for a good few years now and always find them so satisfying to create. My lampshades are available to purchase in a selection of shops around the UK and via my website.

I’d love to welcome you to the workshop, so if you have any queries at all don’t hesitate to get in touch. Hope to see you there!”
