Join us in space 2 on the 11th and 12th of June (10am – 5pm) for
a pop-up shop organised by two young aspiring makers. This pop up shop will
include hand made bags of varied sizes and styles inspired by current trends,
personal interests and past work. A main focus in this pop-up shop is the use
of recycled materials.
THE MAKERS:
Chloe Doherty-
I will be designing and creating medium sized tote bags that explore different
styles of surface decor such as appliqué and hand painting. I took inspiration from market research I conducted in the northern quarter. I focused on the style of clothing that people wore and what would work with their outfits. The bags will have designs on both sides and incorporate recycled materials, I will be working with bright colours and varied shapes making the bags provoke a constant feeling of happiness.
Lily Bradbury-
My design incorporates patch work from scraps and off cuts. I have used a variety of colours and fabric textures which was inspired by my market research of walking around the Northern Quarter, I also looked at customers across the Northern Quarter and designed my work to be incorporated into the ‘Northern Quarter style’. When walking around , I was captivated by the vibrant colours which led to my multi-coloured patch work design.
