Over the past 2 years, Manchester Craft and Design Centre has had the pleasure of partnering with Craft MNL on an ambitious creative project that culminates in the virtual exhibit, Hand to Hand, in the inaugural issue of an online magazine, Manomano.
5 makers from Manchester Craft and Design Centre have partnered with 7 makers in the Philippines to create the amazing craft pieces seen in the virtual exhibit. Each partnership explored a myriad of themes, from making during lockdown to using craft as a means of political expression. These are reflected not just in the artworks but are also in the collaboration stories each artistic partnership narrates. It was a fantastic project to be a part of, and a joy to connect globally during a time when we couldn’t be together in Manchester Craft and Design Centre.
