Jane Blease

Beautiful, handcrafted lighting, original one-off artwork & jewellery.

My work is made using sustainably sourced Oak, Ash and Walnut veneer, combining precise laser cutting with hand embroidery and painted surface pattern.

Often described as Scandinavian in style, the warming hues of the natural wood grain add that cosy ‘hygge’ vibe and the hand-painted ‘Gestalten’ collection features modernist geometric patterns, in playful colourways.

Each of my original paintings evolves organically, mixing colours as I go, layering up delicious colour combinations as the finished piece emerges. I am totally materials and process-driven.

Alongside the lighting and artwork, I make lots of perfect gift items, bookmarks, stud and drop earrings, necklaces and brooches, all extremely tactile and satisfying in their simplicity. Their clean lines are paired with some lovely splashes of colour and texture.

I have been a resident maker at The Manchester Craft and Design Centre since 2008, based upstairs in Studio 25. It is my second home; I love meeting my customers face to face and working with them to develop bespoke pieces. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your ideas, you can send me images of your rooms and fabric and wallpaper samples so I can help with your colour choices.

Branded ‘Antiques of the Future’ by Homes & Antiques magazine, I make each and every product to last and hope that they will be loved by you for a lifetime.
