How would you describe the items you produce?
I make bold printed ceramics  with a matt surface finish on the exterior, individually decorated using silk printing screens.  The collection of vessels I make includes functional pots, bottles, vases, planters and wall pieces, printed with images of birds, octopus, dragonflies and bees. The screen printing technique I use allows each and every vessel to be completely unique. I also make a selection of contemporary jewellery pieces in porcelain and sterling silver. I regularly make to commission, so feel free to get in touch to discuss your ideas.

What are the things that have inspired, and continue to inspire, your work?
My work is inspired by the cabinets of curiosities popular in the Victorian Era. I am fascinated by the objects they contained and the way they were labelled and categorised, and the stories and superstitions that surrounds these types of objects.

When you are not producing new work, what do you like to spend your time doing and why?
I have a rescue dog called Oscar who I love taking out on lovely long walks exploring the country side. I have a keen interest in new music and theatre, most weekends I try to get out and about with friends to see a show in Manchester. My new hobby is plants and gardening, I’m trying to grow lots of new plants in my garden, any tips are always welcome.

If you were asked to describe the experience of visiting Manchester Craft & Design Centre to someone who has yet to come along, what would you tell them?
A fantastic varied collection of high end craft studio shops where you can see the makers making and buy direct. Housed in a beautiful light and airy old Victorian fish market building, tucked away in the heart of Manchester’s eclectic Northern Quarter. Not to be missed!
