Your Name: Jessica Livsey
Business Name: fibre
I share my studio with: Rachel Saunders (‘The Magpie’s Daughter’, vintage-inspired jewellery).
How would you describe the items you produce?
Beautiful handmade gifts and greeting cards which can be personalised for any occasion. Whether it’s to celebrate a christening, wedding, special anniversary, or the birth of a baby, fibre’s stylish and unique personalised frames are something that people of any age will want to keep.
What are the things that have inspired, and continue to inspire, your work?
I combine my intrinsic flair for colour and texture, with text, to create cards that are highly original and inspiring. My range is influenced by seasons, environments and lifestyles, interior design and fashion.
When you are not producing new work, what do you like to spend your time doing and why?
Pottering round second hand junk shops, and garden centres. Redesigning my garden and going for long walks along the river.
If you were asked to describe the experience of visiting Manchester Craft & Design Centre to someone who has yet to come along, what would you tell them?
A lovely craft experience away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, relaxed and inspiring.
