BIG: Selling on Etsy event
Etsy are running multiple events across Greater Manchester to help those who have already set up a creative business or those wanting to start their creative business online.

The workshop held by Nicola Rowlands will include:
– product development
– photographing your products

– pricing, packaging, postage methods
– time keeping, staff, premises
– social media
– customer services

Hey Clay! is a national celebration of Clay, which is done by multiple venues across the UK, holding free events working with clay across the weekend of 23rd to the 25th of March 2018
They are looking for makers and venues to hold a Hey Clay! event, wether that be a day/half-day session, or workshops across the weekend, etc.

Applications for the Great Northern Contemporary Fair are now open!
You can now apply for GNCCF Manchester and their two new summer shows, GNCCF Sheffield and GNCCF Newcastle.

GNCCF will be returning to Manchester from the 11th to the 14th of October 2018 as a headline event for the two week city festival of Design.
GNCCF is one of the UK’s leading selling events, including over 150 of the UK’s top design makers.

MCDC-based opportunities:

Open call for young makers, designers and artists

Deadline February 25, 2018 at 5:00pm

We are excited to invite young UK-based artists, makers and designers to submit their work for this open call competition.

We have partnered with 42nd Street, a Manchester-based charity which supports young people aged 11-25 with their emotional wellbeing and mental health. We will be working with 42nd Street’s Creative Agents to select the winner and produce the exhibition.

The exhibition will take place at MCDC from 24th May to 1st September 2018, and will feature at least 3 selected makers.

Maker Meet up:

Our first Maker Meet Up of the year will be taking place on March 22 between 6 and 8pm.

Join us for an evening of informal networking, advice surgeries and a competition to have your work featured on our website and social media platforms. There will also be drinks and snacks to keep chatting about craft and making all evening!
