Meet the Artist and Meet the Team
Manchester Craft & Design Centre is home to designers and makers who work and sell from their unique studio spaces, which you can visit and browse free of charge seven days a week.
You can also meet our staff team and residents by appointment. We offer range of affordable talks ranging from a free introductory talk to a ‘Meet The Maker’ talk and themed tour. This can be a great opportunity to ask about current issues, trends and achievements in the craft and design sector and hear from the people who are a part of it.

Exhibitions and Events
Our exhibitions are held on our ground floor and they are completely free to visit and review. They provide a great opportunity to research contemporary designers, makers and artists and contain informative displays and supporting activity sheets for all of our visitors.
Our exhibition openings are often held on a Saturday afternoon and provide another free opportunity for Arts Award students to access high-quality arts events.

Writing and Sharing Reviews
If you write a review about one of our exhibitions or events, share it with us via email, by visiting us in person or through our social media pages.
We can upload your review on our blog page or talk about it on Twitter or Facebook, so that your views can become part of wider discussions about craft and design.

Designing Resources for other Young People
Here at Manchester Craft & Design Centre we are always keen to hear to about what young people would like to see on offer.
Helping us to develop our resources is a great way to have your say in what we offer, whilst developing new skills, learning about our organisation and meeting the team!

Developing New Artistic Skills
We offer an affordable hands-on taster session led by one of our resident makers so that young people can try out new techniques and learn new skills within craft and design.

Volunteering Opportunities
From working with a resident maker to supporting the management team, Manchester Craft & Design Centre can offer valuable and interesting work experience that can enhance your knowledge of craft and design.
Volunteering for us will help you to develop a range of skills and give you an insight into working within an arts organisation. It can be a useful part of the Arts Award research and a great addition to a portfolio.
