Kantos: Sea Change

Kantos Chamber Choir in collaboration with Bothy

Sunday 23rd April, 2.30pm & 5pm

Manchester Craft and Design Centre

Surfer, Sailor, Fisherman, Fry – all know the sea’s unimaginable power to both give and take life. This programme takes a deep dive into the age-old folklore of the ocean, featuring nautical-inspired songs by Judith Bingham, Vaughan Williams, Mäntyjärvi and more, alongside sea shanties including Haul Away Joe & viral sensation The Wellerman.

Sea Change marks Kantos Chamber Choir’s return to Manchester Craft and Design Centre, which in a past life was a Victorian fish market – it’s only fitting that they sing music in this space to consider our impact on the ocean & to help envisage a more sustainable future.
