Forming Word Alphabet – Artists announced

BY Manchester Craft and Design Centre

08/10/13

After an overwhelming response to our first ever open-call, 26 artists have been selected to take part in the exclusive ‘Forming Words Alphabet’ exhibition. Each artist was randomly assigned a letter to interpret for the alphabet – you’ll have to come and see us between 10-13 October to see the final results!

The selected artists work in a variety of mediums including illustration, paper sculpture, print, jewellery, textiles, mosaic, stained glass, ceramic, papercuts and collage. The alphabet will showcase work by both emerging and established artists, including recent graduate Tom Bevan and Manchester-based illustrators Tasha Whittle and Emma Reynolds.

This exhibition will take place as part of Manchester Craft: Illustrated & Unplugged during the Manchester Weekender
