4th of July until 23rd of September – all day — Free: Bee in the City: we are hosting four bees decorated by pupils from four schools as part of the Bee in the City learning programme. Pop in to see the bees and pick up a trail map to find out where the 131 bees are in Manchester. Find out more about Bee in the City here.
Until 1st of September – all day – Free: Materialise: a showcase of five young makers. An exhibition of young makers co-curated by Manchester Craft & Design Centre and the Creative Agents at 42nd Street, a Manchester charity supporting young people aged 11-25 with emotional wellbeing and mental health. It features textiles, ceramics and woodwork. Find out more here.
4th of August — 2:00pm to 5:30pm — £60: Sue Kane from studio 23 will be offering an introduction to watercolour workshop. Based on fresh flowers and nature, you’ll be able to explore painting techniques and colour mixing theory to create your own watercolour painting. Get your ticket here.
23rd of August — 2:00pm to 7:00pm in space2 — £25: Business and creative coaching sessions with Victoria Scholes, maker and professional coach. Want to review where you are creatively or professionally? Coaching can help to redraw the big picture, clarify a muddle or make some concrete plans to move forward. Book here.

15th of September — 12:00pm to 5:00pm — Free: Heritage Open Day Activities: Celebrate traditional craft skills with by making your own ceramic tile, meet our talented makers in their open studios, experience our new Korean ceramics exhibition and enjoy the final days of our giant Bee in the City bees.
17th of September — 6:00pm to 9:00pm in space2: Airbnb Experiences are unique tours and activities hosted by local experts that give travellers an insight into a specific area of knowledge, expertise or location. Airbnb will share advice on how to run a successful Experience. Tickets available here.
27th of February 2019 — 11:00am – 5:00pm — £20 to £25: FRAMEWORK is a new professional development programme for artists, makers and photographers. Collaboratively developed and delivered by a-n, Castlefield Gallery, Manchester Craft & Design Centre and Redeye, the Photography Network. This session will be practical and informative and will equip you with the knowledge of how to approach fundraising for your practice. Book your ticket here.
12th of March 2019 — 10:00am to 5:00pm — £20 to £25: Also part of the FRAMEWORK series. Whether you are wanting to prepare for introducing yourself and your work; interviews; meetings; studio visits; proposing a project or collaborating with others, ‘Communicating with Confidence’ will focus on increasing your communication skills and confidence, both in person and in writing.
