Spotted
The team here at MCDC have been spotting talent at regional and national graduate shows since 2011. Our team select makers who we think are the “ones to watch” in the world of contemporary craft & design, we then support, promote and publises these superstar graduates here on our website for all to see & celebrate. One very special ‘Spotted’ candidate is also awarded the ‘Annual MMU Graduate Solo Exhibition Award’ to a graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University whose work we feel is of considerable mention. They are then given the chance to exhibit their work here at MCDC plus receive on-going support and guidance from our team of expertise. 2013 winner was embroidery graduate Elizabeth Jane Winstanley, whose exhibition ‘Tactile Illusions’ will run here until Sat 5th July. This year, this incredible opportunity was awarded to the very deserving Rosemary Grace Booth, whose stunning pinhole artworks caught our eye straight away. Her inventive use of media to create striking scapes is something we can’t wait to see more of, and look forward to hosting Rosie’s show here in the spring of 2015.
