Screen shot of the new micrositeThe last seven weeks have seen a huge amount of change in the wider world and for us at Manchester Craft and Design Centre. We initially closed to the public and then had to take the difficult but necessary decision to close our doors as a place of making. Many of our talented makers are continuing to craft at home, building up stocks for when we’re able to reopen and also maintaining sales online.

Our Craft at Home microsite gives you a quick and easy way to discover our community of makers, and we’d encourage you to take a look and show them some support during this difficult time.

We’ll also be releasing a series of six #MCADMakerBees for you to craft at home, so you can get making and show your support for our key workers and NHS staff in Greater Manchester who are all doing such a buzzing job.

Our ‘Craft at Home’ blog brings you the stories of craft that our staff and MCAD friends have in their homes that bring them joy, as well as insights into how makers are carrying on creating at home.

Please take a look and get involved by sharing your #MCADMakerBees with us on social media and also by supporting our makers by shopping online.

We hope you’re all well, staying safe and managing to carry on making where you can.

Best wishes,

Everyone at MCAD.
