Meet our new makers
With the official launch of our first ever glass exhibition – Heated Exchanges – just days away, we’re delighted to be welcoming two new resident glass artists to Manchester Craft & Design Centre.
Michelle Keeling Glass was born in 2005, producing distinctive architectural glass, art glass wall panels, sculptural and functional interior accessories, and unique glass jewellery.
Gemma studied Three-Dimensional Design at Manchester School of Art, graduating in 2008.
Since then she has worked for the British Glass Biennale as an Assistant Curator and in several glassblowing studios before setting up her own business in 2015 producing contemporary blown glass, including giftware, interior accessories, installation glass, private and corporate commissions.
Gemma and Michelle join existing resident glass artist, Studio 10’s Helen Tiffany, to bring a diverse range of glassmaking techniques and styles to MCDC and further establish the Centre as a permanent destination for contemporary glass in the North West.
Meet Gemma and Michelle here at MCDC on Saturday 19th November as we officially launch Heated Exchanges and kick off the start of the festive season with live music, complimentary mulled wine and mince pies and crafty Christmas activities for the kids. Find out more here…
