Whitworth Threads
An exhibition of work by 3D Design and Textiles students from Manchester School of Art, developed in collaboration with staff from the Whitworth Art Gallery. Working in cross-disciplinary teams, the students have designed and made new products and limited edition craft pieces for the Whitworth Gallery shop. The work has been developed in response to the venue as a gallery, archive and building within an urban park, and inspired by the Whitworth’s ambition to become a hub of the community, utilising art and creativity as a catalyst for social engagement, and for personal well-being.
