Lets get Pewtering!
This one day workshop is based around the rolling mill which allows you to add your own unique texture and pattern to the Pewter. Ella, Manchester Craft and Design Centres resident Pewterer, will guide you through designing and making your own small pot using a range of traditional metalwork skills such as soldering.
This a fab sheet metal workshop which allows you to experiment with texture, pattern and mark making so you will leave with your own unique design in the perfect size for a pen holder, succulent pot or even a drinking cup. You will take away the finished item as well as a collection of new skills, handy hints and tips if you want to continue making at home.
Ella will provide materials on the day to inspire designs but encourages you to bring along doilies, lace and interesting textures to try – the more the merrier!
Pewter is a lead free malleable metal which doesn’t tarnish and is perfect for starting a new hobby.
Please note: Materials and hot beverages are provided though lunch is not. You are welcome to explore the many local eateries in the Northern Quarter, bring a packed lunch or join us at the on-site Oak Street Cafe Bar.
