Lets get Pewtering!
During this Cuttlefish Casting GIVE IT A BASH workshop Ella will guide you through all the stages of designing and making your own Pewter Christmas hanging decoration or bracelet/pendant charm, perfect to get you in the festive spirit or to give as unique Christmas presents. Using molten Pewter, which you will cast into cuttlefish bone after creating your own unique mould through a series of scratching, drawing and pressing techniques. The day is designed so you can take home a finished item, new skills and tips for if you want to continue Pewtering at home.
Lead-free pewter is a soft and versatile metal which doesn’t tarnish, can be used with food, and looks super stylish around your home. Ella is an award-winning designer and is based in studio 10 here at Manchester Craft & Design Centre. She is passionate about Pewter, and can’t wait to see you in the workshop!
Please note: Materials, hot beverages and mince pies are provided though lunch is not. You are welcome to explore the many local eateries in the Northern Quarter, bring a packed lunch or join us at the on-site Oak Street Cafe Bar.
