Pricing is something that all makers struggle with. What’s the difference between wholesale and your retail prices and how do you work them out? The Design Trust’s Patricia van den Akker will guide you through the many strategies to build your confidence in selling your work.
This intensive one-day workshop will include:
- How to cost your product and calculate your hourly rate.
- The most common pricing mistakes, and how to avoid them.
- 10 pricing strategies you can use.
- Pricing for wholesale.
- How to increase your prices, without losing clients.
- Strategic pricing: Do your numbers stack up?
Who is this workshop for?
Makers and designers who struggle with pricing their products – whether you’re fresh out of University or have been in business for a while (we’d suggest less than 5 years in business).

About Patricia van den Akker
Patricia van den Akker is Director of The Design Trust. She is a passionate, honest and practical creative business expert who works with designers and makers at any stage in their career. She works as a business adviser, trainer, coach and mentor and specialises in business development, marketing and sales. She also works with organisations and universities as a trainer running creative business development workshops, developing (online) training programmes for other organisations, and as a creative business training consultant giving strategic advice or creating business plans.
