Makers Dozen in Conversation
Thursday 11th September
6-8pm
FREE (booking essential – get your free place here)
Manchester Craft & Design Centre
Join the six core members of Makers Dozen for this informal In Conversation event, where you can find out more about the trials and triumphs of their collaborations for our current exhibition.
We invited the Dozen to takeover our Summer exhibitions and events programme, and they responded to this brief by engaging with new ways of thinking through working collaboratively. They were encouraged to be exploratory, playful, experimental, and risk-taking, and the results vary from a mini recreation of our exhibitions space to a prototype for the world’s most expensive candle.
This event will be informal, encouraging questions from you as the audience and within the Dozen themselves. The evening will also be a chance for a sneaky peak at the exhibition whilst the building is closed to the public, where you can talk directly to the makers themselves. The six core members are:
- Eleanor Simms
- Joseph Hartley
- Vinny Ratcliff
- Rory Thompson
- Jessica Swallow
- and Laura Negus
