28 October 2015, 6 – 8pm
What is it?
This is a short introductory workshop designed to give you an insight into the world of press release writing. It’s part of a year-long programme of marketing-focussed workshops we’re running to help independent makers, artists and designers.
What will I learn?
Sarah will guide you through the best ways to go about writing a press release – thinking about the tone, content, and timing. She’ll look at who to send it to, what makes a newsworthy story, and some general dos and don’ts.
Who’s it for?
This workshop has been designed for makers, artists and designers who are working for or by themselves in their own small businesses. It’s aimed at people who lack the confidence or knowhow in writing press releases and approaching press and media.
Who’s Sarah?
Sarah Walters writes about music, art, comedy, literature, culture and fashion for the MEN and its weekly entertainment supplement CityLife. You can see her latest articles here
This workshop will take place in space2 at Manchester Craft & Design Centre. Click here for directions
