WORKSHOP : February 8, 2020.
Experimental Pewter Spoon Making
10 – 3pm / £92.22 / Booking via Eventbrite
Join Ella for a fun and experimental day of spoon making.
Inspired by Ella’s love of making spoons and her collection of foraged, vintage and found objects, this workshop combines traditional pewtersmithing skills with surprising spoon handles to create contemporary objects that can either be used or admired. You’ll start the day by learning how to hammer flat sheets of pewter into 3D spoon bowls and then designing spoons before experimenting with hammer marks, riveting, wire wrapping, polishing and drilling to create decorative effects. After lunch you will combine all of these techniques with handles such as beautiful sticks, vintage rulers, and rusty found objects to create unique spoons.
Ella will have a large collection to forage through but please do feel free to bring anything along – the more unexpected the better!
Suitable for beginners or those with previous silver or jewellery experience.
