Craft Unravelled: Science in the City
Science in the City
To celebrate Manchester being the first UK city to be designated European City of Science, a free week-long festival (22-29 July) is taking place alongside the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF).
Join our curator for a 20-minute talk and tour of our current exhibition Biological Atelier: The Showroom and learn more about designer/researcher Amy Congdon and her explorations into how tissue engineering could be used to grow new biological textiles for the fashion industry.
And hear more about The Fabric of Research exhibition from two of the designers whose work is featured – Jayne Mechan and Vicki Wheeler – alongside Sive Finlay, Research Engagement Manager from Cancer Research UK.
Free, no booking required, meet at the exhibition space on the ground floor at 1.30pm.
