Bright Morning Star (now The Urban Mermaid) was established in 1988 by Deborah Hodgkiss.
The aim of the business was to produce one-off ceramic sculptures with a romantic dreamlike quality. Inspired by fairy tales,a love of nature, and the charm of a bygone era, each piece is intricately detailed and textured to create a truly individual finished sculpture.
Tangleheads is also an integral element of The Urban Mermaid business and focuses on fantastical tiaras and jewellery.
