Designers Eclectic is a collective of 5 jewellers, who present a fabulous collection of jewellery in their elegant new boutique. All working with different materials including precious metals, gemstones, resin, enamel and textiles, the designers create a wide range of jewellery and accessories to appeal to a wide range of people - and budgets...
Founding member, Jane Dzisiewski, says, "It's a fantastic opportunity for all of us. Starting out as a lone designer in the current economic climate would have been extremely daunting, but launching as a group has allowed us to spread the set-up costs and also provide great emotional support."
Stephanie Brown adds, "Manchester Craft and Design Centre is an ideal platform for the launch of Designers Eclectic. It has a real sense of community and we already feel part of the craft and design world."
Stephanie Brown, Jane Dzisiewski , Sue Barry, Michelle Appleton and Helen Pickering Pick design an eclectic range of jewellery and accessories using both traditional and cutting-edge techniques. All of the pieces are hand-made and are either limited edition or one-off pieces.
"It is important that we keep true to our training in design", says Jane. "Competition is intense, so we strive to create really individual pieces, things that you just couldn't find on the High Street."
The designers' ages and backgrounds are as varied as their styles; these include advertising, pharmaceuticals and printed textiles.
