Deborah Zeldin O'Neill and Eve Redmond had been friends for several years when in 2003, they decided to realise their long term ambition to launch a jewellery store / gallery space 'divinity' in Manchester's Northern Quarter. Their dream was to make handmade contemporary jewellery accessible to Manchester's cognoscenti. Their shop is now a mecca for those who want to buy for their collections or to commision one of their gorgeous pieces. Their work is widely featured in the media.
Deborah Zeldin O'Neill BA (hons) Jewellery - MA Design, says " My work acts as a vehicle for me to explore my world and to make my personal comment on it. Objects and materials that surround me seem to have the ability to sustain a greater breadth of meaning. When these items are made into jewels they transmute into a testing ground to provoke or allegorise". Deborah is also currently studying for a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Eve Redmond BA(hons) Jewellery - Central St
Martins College of Art & Design, had always been fascinated by
kinetics and uses engineering principles in her work. Her designs
evolve through a dialogue, developing in response to the dynamic
potential implicit within the materials. She is a founder member of
Manchester Jewellers Network / ACJ, exhibiting in Britain and
internationally. Currently course leader in Jewellery at City
College Manchester, she is also studying for a Masters degree at
Birmingham Institute of Art and Design
