YARNBOMBING
Help with our record-breaking attempt.
Due to huge interest and fantastic contributions from across the globe, we're continuing with Yarn Forward until the whole of the banister is covered.
So we are inviting you to continue to knit or crochet decorative
strips of yarn for our installation.
In response to the exhibition, UK Craft Mafias, which ran here early in 2009, independent artists ArtYarn installed a yarn wrapping round the 1st Floor banister of the Centre to celebrate the many versatilities and techniques of knitting and crochet from around the world.
So get knitting and help us make the biggest yarnbomb ever!
How to take part
* Knit or crochet your knitted strip to measure 7cm wide x 40 cm long. Any colour, yarn and technique is accepted, the brighter and wackier, the better.
* Write a small note stating your name and location. Each knitted strip will house a small label stating the maker’s details.
* Send in your yarn strips FAO Kelda Savage, Manchester Craft & Design Centre, 17 Oak Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 5JD or drop them off in person to the office on the 1st floor
Many thanks and look forward to receiving your fabulous designs.
